Stanley Revell served as an aircraft rigger with the RAF Special Operations Maintenance Party abroad HMS Eagle and HMS Furious in the Mediterranean. During the war he visited Gibraltar on a number of occasions to assemble the Supermarine Spitfires subsequently used for the defence of Malta. In his account he describes his work in assembling the aircraft; his impressions of Gibraltar, the Spanish workforce on the Rock and security measure to prevent spying. He also makes mention of the routine abroad HMS Eagle.
