Lydia Robles was born in Gibraltar in 1921. She speaks about Gibraltar before the war. Her family was evacuated to England during the war and Mrs Robles gives a dramatic description of the voyage to the UK and lots of interesting detail about life in London during The Blitz. She loved London and found it difficult to return to Gibraltar, she speaks about the housing shortage after the war and her strong feelings on her British Gibraltarian identity.
